Contest Rules and Regulations

1. The award is granted by the special Chapter appointed by the Committee of the Archive of the Warsaw School of Ideas, funded from the research project of the National Program for the Advancement of Humanities „Warsaw School of the History of Ideas and its significance in the Polish Humanities” (11H 11 018180) in years 2012-2016.

2. The object of the contest can be scientific works on the history of social, political and legal ideas. 

3. The works should be submitted by the thesis supervisor with an attached written support of the reviewer. 

4. The application should contain:- three copies of the work printed in paper,- CD with a digital copy of the work,- basic information on the author including e-mail address and telephone number,- opinion on the work written by its reviewer,- author’s abstract containing 1500-1800 characters.

5. All the abovementioned materials should be deposited in the Secretariat of the Institute of Sociology of Warsaw University, Karowa Street 18, 00-927 Warszawa and the Secretary of the Chapter, dr. hab. Andrzej Waśkiewicz, should be notified by sending an e-mail to the address:

6. Deadline expires on 31st of October each year. 

7. The submitted works are evaluated by the Chapter-appointed special contest committee which consists of three professors which specialize in the relevant for the submitted work field of study. 

8. The announcement of the results takes place at the first next year meeting of the Scientific Board of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Warsaw University.

9. Laureates are granted diplomas and first, second and third prize award, that is 1000, 750 and 500 zloties, respectively. 10. The recognized works will be recommended for the publication to the “Przegląd Filozoficzno-Literacki” journal, in either full or abbreviated form.
