The present Archive

Archive of Warsaw School of History of Ideas is a forum of cooperation centred  around the project „Warsaw School of History of Ideas and its significance for Polish Humanities”, brought into existence by four partner institutions: Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences, Department of Philosophy and Sociology at Warsaw University, Department of Applied Social Sciences and Rehabilitation and National Library. The Realization of the project is supported by the Institute of Documentation and Studies in Polish Literature and Jewish Historical Institute.
The object of cooperation is a conjoint operation carried out for the purpose of coordination and realization of the Project, founded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education within the framework of National Programme for the Advancement of Humanities, research module 1.1, as a result of the conclusion of an agreement between the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences (Project Leader) and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, signed on 30th January 2012.


The principles of cooperation between the Partners are regulated by the Preliminary Agreement, signed on behalf of the said institutions in 2012 by Professor Henryk Domański - Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Jacek Migasiński – Dean of Department of Philosophy and Sociology at Warsaw University, Professor Marcin Król – Dean of the Department of Applied Social Sciences and Rehabilitiation and Tomasz Makowski, PhD, Director of the National Library.


The person responsible for the realization of the project is the Executive Manager of the Project, appointed by the Director of the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology PAN – Professor Andrzej Gwiazdowski from IFiS PAN.


Advisory body which supports and monitors the proper implementation of the project is The Council of the Archive of Warsaw School of History of Ideas, which is  constituted by virtue of the aforementioned agreement and which consists of the delegates appointed by the respective partner institutions.
